CMOS cameras from Photonfocus target low light imaging applications

May 1, 2015
Read about the latest product release from Photonfocus, a low light CMOS camera available in Camera Link or GigE interface versions that can achieve a frame rate of 30 fps in full resolution.

Photonfocus has announced the release of a new CMOS camera series that targets low light applications. The MV1-R1280 cameras are available in Camera Link (MV1-R1280-50-CL) and GigE (MV1-R1280-50-G2) interfaces and both feature a proprietary CMOS image sensor. The sensor is a 2/3”, 1.3 MPixel rolling shutter CMOS sensor with a 7.1 μm pixel size that can achieve frame rates up to 30 fps at full resolution. The sensor, according to Photonfocus, utilizes a method of exposure and an optimized analog-to-digital conversion to reduce the read out noise under 1e-. Furthermore, the MV1-R1280 CMOS cameras feature a dynamic range of 82 dB, a configurable region of interest mode, image correction, and a software development kit.
