Featuring a CoaXPressframe grabber and range extender unit, the Komodo FXP image acquisition system from Kaya Instruments uses fiber optic cables to acquire images from distances up to 10km in single-mode and up to 400m in multi-mode. The system is capable of receiving video streams from up to 4 CoaXPress cameras in single, dual, or quad modes, with each link supporting standard CXP bitrates up to 6.25 Gbps. It converts CoaXPress links to a fiber optic interface and uses a flow-through DMA to transmit video streams to computer memory through PCIe. Additionally, the frame grabber uses PCIe Gen3 x8 links for communication with Host PC for video uploading and configuration. The Komodo FXP system is suitable for use in machine vision and automation, defense, and surveillance applications.
