A recent reported indicated that in 2013, global robot sales will increase by about 2%, but from 2014 to 2016, the industry will see its worldwide sales jump by about 6% on average per year. This predicted increase will come as a result of further penetration into industrial segments like electronics and food and beverage, as well as the continuing industrialization of emerging nations. While the expansion of the robotics industry is sure to bring exciting new robotic applications and products, we don't have to wait until 2016 to get a glimpse of the future.
