OPTICS 1 Inc. wins $25 million Navy contract for advanced technology

SEPTEMBER 11--OPTICS 1 Inc. (Westlake Village, CA;www.optics1.com) has been awarded a contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center (Lakehurst, NJ) worth $25 million over five years to develop a new imaging optical system called AMOSS (Advanced Multi-spectral Optical Surveillance System). The first unit will be delivered to the Navy in March 2003 at a cost of $4.8 million. The Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity structure of the Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract also allows other government agencies to order similar technologies directly from OPTICS 1.
