New company name reflects key market focus

By Bonnie Heines

OCTOBER 11--Burleigh Instruments (Harpenden, England) will be changing its trading name to Scientifica Ltd. as of Oct. 24, 2001, as a result of the increased portfolio of products that the company will be able to offer to UK customers for photonics and life-science-research applications. Managing director Mark Johnson commented, "Having successfully supported the range of Burleigh Instruments photonics and life science products in the UK for more than five years, our recent agreement to distribute the complete range of fiberoptic test and measurement equipment from EXFO was a catalyst to change the company's trading name to Scientifica."
