This allows systems to be used alongside laptop computers as well as desktop computers that have previously used a PCI connection. All available HERON modules with Xilinx FPGA, TI DSP, and fast I/O can be plugged into the HERON-BASE2. The USB connection on HERON-BASE2 is supported via the company's Host API software, which allows applications and tools on the host machine to access HERON hardware.
