Windows software emulates brain vision

DECEMBER 12, 2007--Numenta (Menlo Park, CA, USA) has introduced a Windows-based vision package that implements a type of memory architecture called Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM), which is modeled after the hierarchically organized neocortex. In brief, HTMs build models of the world from exposure to sensory data. These models capture both the spatial and temporal hierarchy of causes in the world and offer the promise of solving many difficult problems in machine learning, machine vision, and data mining.
