• ID technology integrates with national security information database to provide high-level security
  NOVEMBER 26--Imaging Automation (Bedford, NH; www.imagingauto.com) has signed a $5 million contract with the Dominican Republic to purchase and deploy its BorderGuard technology and create a National Center for Classified Information.
• Robots and vision system automate bearing assembly
  NOVEMBER 19--FAG Automotive (Schweinfurt, Germany), a wholly owned subsidiary of FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG, has enlisted Grude Systeme GmbH (Sauerlach, Germany) to automate its assembly process using off-the-shelf cameras, frame grabbers, robots, and robot controllers.
• Braintech and Oxford Sensor Technologies Ltd. sign agreement
  NOVEMBER 15--Braintech Inc. (North Vancouver, BC, Canada; (www.braintech.com) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Oxford Sensor Technologies (London, England) to establish a framework for further developing and integrating vision and sensor-guided robotic solutions for the automotive industry.

  NOVEMBER 6--Hand Held Products (HHP; Skaneateles Falls, NY; www.handheld.com), a Welch Allyn affiliate, has filed legal action against the Lemelson Medical, Educational & Research Foundation and REFAC International Ltd. asserting that Lemelson has breached the 1989 License Agreement that HHP entered into with Lemelson to settle a 1988 patent-infringement lawsuit
• E&S PC image generator supports vision research at Harvard
  NOVEMBER 5--The simFUSION PC-based image generator from Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. (E&S; Salt Lake City, UT; www.es.com) has been chosen to support laboratory research at a Harvard Medical School-affiliated institute.
• Peritek acquires Raster Graphics
  NOVEMBER 5--Peritek Corp. (Oakland, CA; www.peritek.com), a provider of mezzanine graphics boards for embedded systems, has acquired the assets of Raster Graphics Inc. (RGI), a provider of PMC (PCI mezzanine card) and VMEbus graphics boards
• Viisage and Pelco team to provide airport security system
