  • German machine-vision industry achieves record sales
    APRIL 23--The approximately 250 companies involved in the German machine-vision industry have posted record sales for 2000.
  • AIA Business Conference draws global audience
    The Automated Imaging Association (AIA)--the North American trade group of machine-vision technology--held its ninth annual Business Conference in Orlando, FL, last February, attracting nearly 180 attendees from Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland who expressed favorable comments on the conference.

    APRIL 9--According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA; San Jose, CA; www.semichips.org), worldwide sales of semiconductors totaled $15.5 billion for February 2001, a decrease of nearly 7% from the January 2001 level of $16.6 billion.
  • Worldwide IC market to plummet
    APRIL 2--IC Insights Inc. (Scottsdale, AZ; www.insights.com) has reversed its 2001 worldwide IC market forecast from a 7% rise to a 9% drop.
