• EUROPEAN NEWS: PixelVision enters distribution partnership with AMS Technologies
  APRIL 30--Expanding its sales initiative in Europe, PixelVision (Tigard, OR; www.pixelvision.com) has entered into a business relationship with AMS Technologies, a distributor of optoelectronic components and systems headquartered in Munich, Germany.
• Visionics receives $650,000 order from US Marine Corps
  APRIL 29--Visionics Corporation (Minnetonka, MN, and Jersey City, NJ; www.visionics.com) has received an order from the US Marine Corps for 21 FingerPrinter CMS live-scan systems.
• EUROPEAN NEWS: GOEPEL electronic thrives and builds second plant
  APRIL 29--On April 26 CEO Holger Goepel held the ground-breaking ceremony for the new building of GOEPEL electronic GmbH, which will be built near its current headquarters in Jena/Germany.
• EUROPEAN NEWS: Intel to restart construction of manufacturing facility in Ireland
  APRIL 25--Intel Corporation (Santa Clara, CA;www.intel.com) has announced that it will resume construction on Fab 24 in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland.
• FLIR Systems announces first-quarter 2002 financial results
  APRIL 24--FLIR Systems Inc. (Portland, OR; www.FLIR.com) has announced that net earnings for the first quarter ended March 31, 2002, increased 124% to $8.7 million.
• Planar completes acquisition of DOME
  APRIL 24--Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR; www.planar.com), a leader in flat-panel-display solutions, has completed its acquisition of DOME Imaging Systems of Waltham, MA.
• Cognex Corporation announces first-quarter results
  APRIL 24--Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com) has announced revenue for the first quarter ended March 31, 2002, of $21,780,000, a decrease of 51% from the $44,206,000 reported for the first quarter of 2001.
• Toshiba to provide diagnostic imaging technology
  APRIL 23--Toshiba America Medical Systems (Tustin, CA) has signed a three-year agreement to provide computed-tomography, general x-ray, MRI, nuclear-medicine, ultrasound, and vascular x-ray systems to MAGNET Inc., a New York not-for-profit group purchasing organization that specializes in capital equipment.
• Cognex Corporation enters into $1.3 million OEM agreement with Alphasem AG
  APRIL 23--Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com), a supplier of machine-vision systems, has entered into an OEM agreement with Alphasem AG, a manufacturer of die-bonding and sorting equipment based in Berg/TG, Switzerland.
• Analogic leases manufacturing facility in Haverhill, MA
  APRIL 22--Analogic Corporation (Peabody, MA; www.analogic.com) has signed a lease for a 200,000-sq ft manufacturing facility in Haverhill, MA.
