  MARCH 26--SolidWorks Corporation (Concord, MA; www.solidworks.com) has unveiled the SolidWorks Retraining Program, a computer-aided-design industry program to give unemployed design engineers a fresh start.
• PPT Vision sells a PPT861-SH 3- and 2-D inspection system
  MARCH 25--PPT Vision Inc. (Minneapolis, MN; www.pptvision.com) has received an order worth more than $300,000 for a PPT861-SH 3- and 2-D inspection system from a major US-based semiconductor manufacturer.
• Viisage Technology acquires Biometrica Systems
  MARCH 22--Viisage Technology Inc. (Littleton, MA; www.visage.com), a manufacturer of biometric face-recognition technology and identification systems and solutions, has acquired Biometrica Systems (Mont Vernon, NH), supplier of facial-recognition software to casinos.
• Visionics IBIS installations go live
  MARCH 22--Visionics Corporation (Minnetonka, MN, and Jersey City, NJ; www.visionics.com) has announced the successful installation of its IBIS mobile identification system at the Hennepin County, MN, Sheriff's Office and the Redlands, CA, Police Department.
• Kodak Research Systems appoints ImageMaps as its Southeast Asia distributor
  MARCH 22--Research Systems Inc. (RSI; Rochester, NY; www.researchsystems.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, has appointed ImageMaps Pte. Ltd. as the exclusive distributor of RSI's suite of data-analysis and visualization software products throughout Southeast Asia.
• DALSA to acquire CCD image-sensors business of Philips
  MARCH 22--DALSA Corporation (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) has signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement to acquire the CCD Image Sensors Business of Royal Philips Electronics (Eindhoven, The Netherlands).
• OSI Systems security products featured at Orlando airport checkpoint
  MARCH 15--Two OSI Systems Inc. (Hawthorne, CA; www.osi-systems.com) security systems were unveiled yesterday at an Advanced Technology Checkpoint test site at Orlando International Airport.
• Silicon Recognition chooses Actel FPGAs to deliver silicon solution for smart appliances
  MARCH 14--Silicon Recognition (Petaluma, CA; www.silirec.com) will implement a version of its zero-instruction-set-computing solution within Actel Corporation (Sunnyvale, CA; www.actel.com) flash-based field-programmable-gate-array devices.
• ICOS Vision Systems receives order for component-inspection products
  MARCH 14--ICOS Vision Systems Corporation NV (Heverlee, Belgium; www.icos.be) has received an order valued at more than $1 million from a long-standing customer based in Southeast Asia.
• The MathWorks partners in curriculum design with Olin College of Engineering
