• FLIR Systems to provide thermal imaging systems to Air National Guard
  AUGUST 21--FLIR Systems Inc. (Portland, OR) has been awarded a contract from Modern Technologies Corporation, in conjunction with the US Air Force, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center HC-130 Program Office, valued at $3.5 million to supply its Star SAFIRE II airborne thermal imaging system for the Air National Guard HC-130 search-and-rescue aircraft.
• DuPont Displays And RiTdisplay to produce OLEDs in Taiwan
  AUGUST 19--DuPont Displays (www.dupont.com/displays), a division of DuPont Electronic & Communication Technologies, and RiTdisplays (www.ritdisplay.com), a spin-off of RiTEK Inc., have launched a commercial production line for next-generation displays.
• Xybion sells its electronic-systems business
  AUGUST 19--Xybion Corporation (Cedar Knolls, NJ) has sold the business and assets of its wholly owned subsidiary Xybion Electronic Systems Corporation (XES; San Diego, CA) to ITT Industries Inc.
• Imagis reports growth in revenues
  AUGUST 14--Imagis Technologies Inc. (Vancouver, Canada; www.imagistechnologies.com), a developer of biometric systems using advanced facial- and image-recognition technology, announced its financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2002.
• Concord Camera Corp. selects OmniVision megapixel digital CameraChips
  AUGUST 14--OmniVision Technologies Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA; www.ovt.com), an independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip solutions for high-volume imaging applications, is providing Concord Camera Corp. with 1.3- and 2.0- Mpixel CameraChips for its Concord EyeQ line of digital cameras.
• Linos wins Bavarian Innovation Prize 2002
  AUGUST 13--The Bavarian Innovation Prize, worth EUR 100,000, has been awarded to DermoGenius from Linos (www.linos.com) for the early detection of skin cancer.
• GCE Technologies signs agreement with Motoman
  AUGUST 13--GCE Technologies (www.gemcity.com) has signed a strategic partner agreement with Motoman (www.motoman.com), making it a recognized third-party integrator for Motoman robots.
• InVision Technologies receives $11 million order from French airport authorities
  AUGUST 12-- Airport authorities in Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and Toulouse, France, have ordered multiple InVision Technologies Inc. (Newark, CA; www.invision-tech.com) CTX 9000 DSi explosives-detection systems.
• Cognex system chosen by steel producer
  AUGUST 12--Sidmar N.V. has integrated the Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com) SmartView metals-surface-inspection system for use on a continuous annealing processing line at its manufacturing facility in Gent, Belgium.
• Braintech appoints Lionel Dodd company director
  AUGUST 9--Braintech Inc. (North Vancouver, BC, Canada; www.braintech.com) has appointed Lionel G. Dodd as a director of the company.
