  NOVEMBER 15--The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA; San Jose, CA; www.sia-online.org) has released its 2002--2005 annual forecast, projecting an industry recovery with double-digit growth over the next two years.
• Photon Dynamics reports fourth-quarter and fiscal year-end financial results
  NOVEMBER 14--Photon Dynamics Inc. (San Jose, CA), a supplier of integrated yield-management solutions for the display, electronics, and glass markets, has reported financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of fiscal 2002.
• Few agree on rate of semiconductor growth for 2003
  NOVEMBER 14--How well will the semiconductor industry perform in 2003 following what is expected to be flat to low single-digit growth in 2002? As in the recent past, chipmakers can't seem to agree.

• Chip sales grew 8% in third quarter
  NOVEMBER 13--Global semiconductor sales climbed to $36.9 billion in the third quarter, an 8.2% sequential increase from $34.1 billion in revenue reached in this year's second quarter and a 21% rise from the corresponding period of 2001, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (www.sia-online.org).
• Dataquest cuts IC growth forecast for 2002 and 2003
  NOVEMBER 11--Disappointments in the slumping IC market have prompted Dataquest Inc. (Los Angeles, CA) to cut its growth forecast for the industry by more than one-half for both 2002 and 2003.

  NOVEMBER 6--The worldwide semiconductor market is forecast to post double-digit growth in 2003, with revenue totaling $171.8 billion, a 12.1% increase from 2002 estimates, according to Dataquest Inc., a unit of Gartner Inc. (www.gartner.com).
• Global chip industry records 8.2% third quarter growth
  NOVEMBER 5--According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (San Jose, CA; www.sia-online.org), global semiconductor sales climbed to $36.9 billion in 2002's third quarter, an 8.2% sequential increase from $34.1 billion in revenue reached in this year's second quarter.
