• Coreco vision technology chosen for SARS screening
  MAY 9--Coreco Imaging (St.-Laurent, QC, Canada; www.imaging.com) reports that the company's joint effort with Cantronic Systems Inc. (Vancouver, BC, Canada; www.cantronic.com) has resulted in the deployment of thermal imaging systems in the fight against SARS.
• Bernard Gordon to receive IEC Fellow Award
  MAY 8--Bernard Gordon, executive chairman and chairman of the board of Analogic Corp. (Peabody, MA; www.analogic.com), has been selected to receive the Fellow Award from the International Engineering Consortium (IEC; Chicago, IL; www.iec.org).
• Viisage Technology reports 34% revenue growth for Q1-03
  MAY 8--Viisage Technology Inc. (Littleton, MA; www.viisage.com), a provider of identity verification, reports that its revenues for the quarter ended March 30, 2003, increased 34% to $8.59 million from $6.40 million in the comparable period last year.

  MAY 6--JAI A/S (Glostrup, Denmark; www.jai.com) has completed the transaction to acquire PULNiX America Inc. (Sunnyvale CA; www.pulnix.com) for an undisclosed amount.
• RVSI receives order for barcode readers
  MAY 6--Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI; Nashua, NH; www.rvsi.com) has received a $1.3 million order for custom Data Matrix readers based on its next-generation smart camera reader platform.
• Metrologic celebrates 35th business anniversary
  MAY 5--Metrologic Instruments Inc. (Blackwood, NJ; www.metrologic.com), a manufacturer of imaging systems using laser, holographic, camera, and vision-based technologies, is celebrating 35 years in business.
• FLIR Systems cameras help combat SARS
  MAY 5--FLIR Systems Inc. (Portland, OR; www.flir.com) has received orders for more than 50 cameras for use at airports, hospitals, and other locations in Taiwan and Korea to help detect body fever, a possible precursor to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
• DALSA announces major camera orders
  MAY 5--DALSA Corp. (Waterloo, ON, Canada; www.dalsa.com) has been awarded three major camera orders from Asian flat-panel-display inspection-instrument manufacturers totaling more than $1.8 million.
• GSI Lumonics acquires encoder division
  MAY 5--GSI Lumonics Inc. (Billerica, MA; www.gsilumonics.com) has acquired the principal assets of the encoder division of Dynamics Research Corporation (Wilmington, MA).
