  JANUARY 21--Image Sensing Systems Inc. (St. Paul, MN; www.imagesensing.com), a supplier of video imaging products for traffic-management systems, has added two exclusive distributors in Europe to sell and service its Autoscope vehicle detection system products.
• Augusta sells Weinberger AG
  JANUARY 20--Augusta Technologie AG (Frankfurt, Germany; www.alliedvisiontec.com) is selling its entire interests in its subsidiary Weinberger AG, a 100% daughter company of Augusta belonging to Allied Vision Technologies GmbH.
• Research-firm report shows HP growing for second straight quarter
  JANUARY 17--Based on new third-party market-share data released recently, Hewlett-Packard (HP; Palo Alto, CA; www.hp.com) reclaimed the No. 1 position in global PC markets during the fourth calendar quarter of 2002.
• Pennwell launches publication, conference, and exhibition focusing on homeland security systems
  JANUARY 16-- PennWell (Nashua, NH; www.pennwell.com) is launching Homeland Security Solutions and the Homeland Security Solutions Conference & Exhibition, which will focus on systems applications for terrorist threat, prevention, and response.
• NASA scientists to use Perspecta 3D display to analyze earth-science and astronomical data
  JANUARY 14--Actuality Systems Inc. (Burlington, MA), a leader in spatial 3-D visualization technology, has completed the sale of its Perspecta 3D system to the NASA Ames Research Center in California.
• Given Imaging and Micron Technology announce long-term agreement
  JANUARY 13--Given Imaging Ltd. (Yoqneam, Israel; www.givenimaging.com) and Micron Technology Inc. (Boise, ID; www.micron.com) have entered into an agreement whereby Micron will develop and supply current and next-generation CMOS image sensors to Given Imaging.
• Dynamic Digital Depth to help create 3-D LCD and plasma displays
  JANUARY 10--DDD Group plc (Las Vegas, NV; www.ddd.com) has been selected by ViewSonic Corporation to be a technology and market development partner in developing a range of 3-D display products based upon ViewSonic's LCD and plasma-display technologies.
• L-3 Communications receives large contracts
  JANUARY 9-The Security and Detection Systems division of L-3 Communications (New York, NY; www.L-3Com.com) has received large contracts from Austria's major airports and from Singapore's Changi Airport.
• USDC unveils agenda for Flexible Microelectronics And Display Conference
  JANUARY 9--The US Display Consortium (San Jose, CA), a public/private partnership chartered with developing the flat-panel-display industry infrastructure, has unveiled the formal agenda for its second annual Flexible Microelectronics and Display Workshop & Conference, to be held February 3--4, 2003, in Phoenix, AZ.
• 1394 Trade Association awards Maxtor Corporation first FireWire compliance logo
  JANUARY 7--The 1394 Trade Association (Dallas, TX; www.1394ta.org) has announced that Maxtor Corporation is the first company to complete and pass the association's compliance testing program.
