  SEPTEMBER 24--Indigo Systems (Goleta, CA; www.indigosystems.com) has developed a dynamic, new method for processing standard indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) detector material that enhances the short-wavelength spectral response.
• Free technical seminars at Photonex 03

• Companies participate in successful FireWire Compliance Program

• Tests indicate FireWire 800 gains in computer-peripheral performance
  JUNE 23--A new set of comprehensive performance tests conducted by Bare Feats (www.barefeats.com), a private hardware analytical organization, shows FireWire 800 matching ATA-133 performance in basic read and write functions and far exceeding the performance of USB 2.0 in all comparisons.
• Four-color channel TFT-LCD developed

  MAY 19--CRL Opto Ltd. (Hayes, Middlesex, UK; www.crlopto.com) has been selected to lead a consortium to develop novel photopatternable light-emitting polymer OLED-on-silicon displays.
• Switch-A-View Imaging embeds hidden messages
  MAY 19--Xerox Corp. (Rochester, NY; www.xerox.com) scientists are demonstrating an experimental color printing technology that allows the printing of more than one image on top of another, while viewing only one at a time by exposing it to a specific color of light.
