• Finisar to recognize gain on sale of interest in Sensors Unlimited
  SEPTEMBER 9--Finisar (Sunnyvale, CA; www.finisar.com) will recognize a gain of approximately $12 million on the sale of its minority interest in Sensors Unlimited (Princeton, NJ; www.sensorsinc.com).
• Kontron reorganizes facility in northern California
  SEPTEMBER 8--Kontron America (Poway, CA; www.kontron.com), a leader in embedded computing technology and mobile rugged solutions, has announced that it has renamed its facility in Fremont, CA, to be officially known as Kontron America, Silicon Valley.
• Sensors Unlimited agrees to merge with Goodrich Corp.
  SEPTEMBER 7--Sensors Unlimited (Princeton, NJ) has accepted the $60 million cash offer to merge with Goodrich Corporation.
• Goodrich to acquire Sensors Unlimited
  SEPTEMBER 7--Goodrich Corporation (Charlotte, NC) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sensors Unlimited Inc.
• Intopii enters into agreement with Cognex Corporation
  SEPTEMBER 6--Intopii (Oulu, Finland; www.intopii.fi), an R&D firm specializing in intelligent technologies, has entered into a cooperative agreement with Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com).
• Land Instruments International forms new joint venture in India
  SEPTEMBER 6--Land Instruments International (Dronfield, England; www.landinst.com), a noncontact temperature-measurement and thermal-imaging specialist, has realigned its business alliance with Eurotherm DEL India Ltd., part of the UniDEL Group, with the formation of Land DEL Infrared Pvt. Ltd., a joint-venture company.
• Sensors Unlimited linear array aids inspection of space shuttle Discovery
  SEPTEMBER 6--Sensors Unlimited (Princeton, NJ; www.sensorsinc.com), a manufacturer of short-wavelength infrared linear arrays, photodiodes, and imaging systems, has played a role in the inspection system that was implemented during the flight of the space shuttle Discovery for the return-to-flight mission.
• PennWell acquires CMM trade show
  AUGUST 30--PennWell Corporation (Tulsa, OK; www.pennwell.com), a diversified global media and information company, has acquired CMM International, the trade show for the converting and package printing industry in North America.
• Isra Vision Systems nine-month earnings up 45%
  AUGUST 30--Isra Vision Systems (Darmstadt, Germany) has increased its consolidated pretax earnings in the first nine months of FY2004/2005 from EUR 3.8 million (12% of total output) by 45% to EUR 5.5 million (16% of total output).
• ViTrox to boost output capacity
  AUGUST 29--ViTrox (Penang, Malaysia; www.vitrox.com.my/), which is to be listed on the Malaysian Exchange of Securities & Automated Quotation, is working toward doubling its production capacity to meet the increasing demand for its high-speed vision inspection systems.
