Daily Product Highlights 2005 p1 of 8:

  • Small camera is fast
Monochrome, 22 x 26-mm, double-board camera with USB 2.0 output, model 20K13XUSB, produces clear images at 30 frames/s. The camera utilizes a 768 x 494-pixel monochrome Sony Ex-View CCD for ultralow-level imaging with near-IR sensitivity out to 1 mm. There is no analog redundancy, which means less opportunity for image error or artifacting.
  • Ringlight highlights defects
The LW300 ringlight combines low angle and direct illumination to highlight defects on both highly reflective and nonreflective materials. Specially designed for the packaging industry, the LW300 can be used to inspect items such as plastic bottle caps with foil lining.
  • Vision sensor is industrial
In-Sight 5400S, a stainless-steel vision sensor, is an industrial-grade sensor that meets IEC specifications for shock and vibration and achieves an IP68/NEMA 6P rating that stands up to chemical washdown and submersion.
  • VisualApplets simplifies image programming
Visual Applet is a tool for hardware programming on a FPGA based on graphic data flows. These data flows are arranged by the combination of operators and filter modules of an image-processing library and are compiled to a loadable hardware applet. The library contains arithmetical and morphological operators for pixel manipulation, logical operators for classification tasks, and complex modules.
  • New functionality for Mathematica
Digital Image Processing 2 introduces more than 60 new functions, options, and major modules to Mathematica for fast and powerful image processing on the desktop. Digital Image Processing features more than 200 built-in functions for processing color and gray-scale images or other 2-D signals.
  • Chip-on-board technology delivers color mixing
ACULED (All Color Ultrabright LED) is a compact, high-power light source utilizing multichip-on-board technology. This multi-use LED is designed for operation in a variety of specialty lighting applications, including vision systems, architectural lighting, and medical lighting.
  • Camera replaces obsolete systems
IMPACT T22 is an intelligent camera designed as a drop-in replacement for obsolete or underpowered vision systems. An extension to the IMPACT T-series, the T22 has an image-processing computer inside the camera, enabling it to be deployed without additional image-processing hardware typically found in older machine-vision systems.
  • Light engines increase brightness
Modular light engines use LED technology to spread light from a single light source over a wide, flat area. The LED light engines combine one or more high-power LEDs with a Lumitex woven or UniGlo fiberoptic panel. A special collimating lens captures, then focuses, the light from the LEDs to the fiberoptic panel.
  • Frame grabber supports four input channels
PC_EYE/ASYNC PCI Express frame grabber board has four simultaneous asynchronous input channels and a high-speed PCI Express bus interface. Its design includes a flexible video input module, allowing simultaneous digitization of up to four camera signals (quadro mode). In the quadro mode, images are stored in memory as four separate monochrome images in 8-bit/pixel format.
  • Smart cameras support two interfaces
VC40xx series of high-end intelligent cameras are the latest in the company's line of cameras in robust industrial housings. VGA-monitor output and fast trigger input/output are supported in the new cameras. The VC40xx series supports both serial and Ethernet interfaces simultaneously.
