Daily Product Highlights 2007 p12 of 28:

  • Ringlights enhance lighting
Low-angle ringlights connect directly to PresencePLUS vision sensors or an external power supply to provide optimal illumination of an inspected part by enhancing the contrast of surface features. The 150-mm lights use three tiers of bright LEDs for high-intensity, low-angle illumination. Models are available with infrared or visible red LEDs and offer a choice of continuous or strobed operation through a dedicated strobe input line.
  • CCD camera gives high resolution
SF370 Day/Night color CCD camera is a high-resolution CS/C-mount color camera with 1/3-in. color CCD pick-up device. It reproduces images with resolution of 540 TVL and provides minimum illumination as low as 0.05 lux/f/1.0 (color) and 0.01 lux/f/1.0 (B/W). It is equipped with an automatic switching IR-cut filter producing precise color image under natural light and high quality monochrome images in low light or no light conditions.
  • Software driver is Vista-compatible
Software driver version 2.40 for the uEye cameras now supports the latest Microsoft operating system (32-bit). A new feature is the possibility of flash exposure in free-run mode. This function was previously only available in trigger mode. In free-run mode the camera sensor works autonomously and at maximum speed. While one captured image is being transmitted, the next image is exposed. The functionality is available for all uEye USB cameras, except the UI-1210 and UI-1440 models.
  • FPGA design kit accelerates DSP development
DSP development kit, the V5+C, includes the latest-generation Impulse C-to-VHDL compiler tools and a PMC module based on the Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA and allows military and industrial system developers to hardware-accelerate DSP algorithms and quickly prototype on FPGA within an ANSI C environment. Users can expect to achieve 10X acceleration over their existing microprocessor-based solutions.
  • Lenses enhance day/night surveillance
Day/night IR lenses are engineered to work with IR illuminators and true day/night cameras that use a retractable IR cut filter. They eliminate the focus shift that often occurs with conventional lenses at night, providing optimum sharpness for 24-hour surveillance. The 8.5--40-mm IR varifocal lens features an extended telephoto range while maintaining a maximum aperture of f/1.3.
  • Reflex-free lenses provide high sensitivity
Reflex-free lenses for front-view camera systems and night-vision applications are of multiglass-element designs, mounted in durably constructed metal housings with standard C-mount mounting thread, with fixed focusing and iris diaphragms, and available in focal lengths (mm) and speeds (f/) of 6.7/2.1, 9.6/2.3, and 17/2.3.
  • Bus extender simplifies board testing
PCIeEXT-16 PCI Express bus extender board, when installed in any PCI Express x16 motherboard socket, facilitates testing and debugging of boards of all data widths. Lubricated gold-plated contacts in the top connector on the PCIeEXT-16 bus extender board withstand thousands of insertions, facilitating heavy production testing of PCI Express boards. Additionally, the labeled bus lines enable the PCIeEXT-16 to be used in engineering debugging setups.
  • DaVinci processors provide seamless DSP migration path
Two new DaVinci-technology-based digital signal processors (DSPs) for multichannel video security and infrastructure applications are based on the company's TMS320C64x+DSP core. The TMS320DM647 and TMS320DM648 DSPs provide a seamless migration path for existing video-processing applications based on the TMS320DM642. The C64x+core provides 20% better cycle performance, 20% to 30% higher code density, and is 100% code compatible with the C64x core.
  • Couplers optimize image transfer
Optem M2 APO couplers are designed to optimize image transfer to research-grade cameras to allow detection of subtle color distinctions and specimen distinctions. Features include apochromatic optics that provide high-resolution imaging across the visible spectrum, telecentric design to 5?, minimum color spread, and uniform illumination across the entire field.
  • VTRAC pinpoints machines causing defects
VTRAC intelligent machine-vision software is an enhancement in the company's Genius and KromaKing inspection systems. VTRAC enables the company's systems to learn how each part or feature is made and correlate it to the machine performing the job upstream. While automatically performing its tracking and trending functions, when the system detects a problem, it immediately identifies the point-of-origin machine.
