Daily Product Highlights 2007 p15 of 28:

  • Four-axis controller is precise
OASIS-4i controller is a PCI-compliant plug-and-play board that controls up to four microstepping motors, allowing precise movement of x-y stages and focus mechanisms (the z axis); the fourth axis controller allows for automation of extra peripheral devices such as filter wheels. OASIS-4i is complete and self-contained. No additional power supplies are required.
  • 16-Mpixel camera is for x-ray imaging
Quad-RO: 4096 for indirect x-ray imaging offers flexibility for demanding applications by delivering a maintenance-free (thermoelectrically cooled) camera in a compact package with better than ±0.1°C temperature precision and FireWire (IEEE 1394a) interface. The design balances quadrants within 0.5% to deliver uniform images. The Quad-RO: 4096 is offered with a front-illuminated, 4096 ? 4096-format sensor with 15-µm pixels and 61.44 ? 61.44-mm image area.
  • Hand-held barcode reader is affordable
MAH120 hand-held imager is a lightweight and rugged device that provides fast, flexible, affordable reading of all popular 1- and 2-D barcodes, as well as many other symbologies. Built for cabled point-and-shoot omnidirectional applications, the MAH120 is a low-cost addition to the company's family of high-performance hand-held barcode readers. Its wide-angle lens captures and decodes all barcode types and symbologies.
  • Software adds options
Vision Components VC4XXX series-compatible software option has been added to the company's PIATI family of ECC200 Data Matrix decoding solutions. PIATI_SWO-powered products are suited to automatic decoding of Data Matrices that have been machine-marked (laser scribed, laser printed, dotpeened/pinstamped, inkjet printed, electrochemically etched) on wafers/PCBs/substrates; glass lenses; molds and containers; electronic components and carriers; and medical/dental devices and instruments.
  • Camera is suitable for harsh environments
Ruler E 3D camera is a fast camera that provides real-world calibrated data for 3-D vision inspections. It has a built-in laser and optics for a predefined field of view, making it easy to install. The integration of the lighting and the camera into a robust IP 65 housing makes the Ruler E a solution for more aggressive environments. The Ruler also incorporates MultiScan technology, enabling the camera to perform multiple types of inspections simultaneously.
  • Progressive-scan camera features GigE Vision interface
Digital 3CCD industrial progressive-scan RGB color camera (CV-M9 GE) features GigE Vision interface. Based on 3CCD prism technology, the CV-M9 GE provides full XGA (1024 ? 768-pixel) resolution for each of the red, green, and blue color bands. The camera features both manual and automatic white balance adjustment. Alternatively the white balance can be adjusted by individual shutter settings in the red, green, and blue channels.
  • Video camera integrates easily
SU640KTSX-1.7RT camera offers high sensitivity in the 0.9- to 1.7-mm spectrum with 640 ? 512-pixel format on a 25-mm pitch. The lightweight SWIR camera delivers clear, real-time video imaging in a variety of lighting conditions, from starlight to direct sunlight. Compact and easy to integrate, the indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) KTSX is available in a small OEM module for integration into larger systems.
  • Tire-inspection system uses lasers
New generation of line laser sensors, EyeCon 2200 Selcom Sensors That See, are specifically designed for sidewall tire final inspection using line laser technology. Profiles are measured thousands of times a second, providing high data density to detect small defects as a tire rotates.
  • Quad-core technology speeds machine vision
HALCON 8.0, the comprehensive standard software library with IDE for machine vision, can automatically use quad-core parallelization for increased performance. This is useful for applications that must handle large amounts of image data, such as color or other multichannel images, 16 or more bit images, stereo images, Fourier transform, texture analysis, surface inspection, or blob analysis. HALCON is platform-independent and compatible with Windows, Linux, and Solaris.
  • HMI products are versatile
Barracuda ultrarugged product family is designed for harsh military and automation environments. The workstation model is available with a touch screen; stand-alone display model will be available in the third quarter of 2007. Barracuda has a sunlight-readable 15-in. display, is operational in a 0°C to 50°C environment, and offers a -30°C option for use at low temperatures. Optional water- and dust-tight circular military-rated connectors allow for harsh environment connectivity.
