• Microscan to purchase Siemens' Machine Vision business
  SEPTEMBER 15, 2008--Data acquisition and control technology supplier Microscan (Renton, WA, USA; www.microscan.com) today announced it will purchase Siemens' Machine Vision business (www.usa.siemens.com), formerly Acuity CiMatrix, headquartered in Nashua, NH, USA.
• PPT VISION completes $900k private offering
  SEPTEMBER 11, 2008--PPT VISION, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA; www.pptvision.com) has announced that on Sept. 8, 2008, it completed a private offering of 12.5 million shares of its common stock for $900,000.
• Edmund Optics continues expansion in Asia
  SEPTEMBER 9, 2008--Edmund Optics (EO; Barrington, NJ, USA; www.edmundoptics.com) has appointed Clark Harris as manager of marketing for Asia and Vincent Thong as director of sales for Asia.
• Adept names John Dulchinos CEO, Robert Bucher executive chairman, reports FY08 financials
  SEPTEMBER 5, 2008--Adept Technology has named John Dulchinos CEO to succeed Robert Bucher, who has been named executive chairman of the board of directors. Michael Kelly, Adept's current chairman of the board, will continue to serve on the board in the position of lead independent director.
• e2v to supply 16-Mpixel CCD sensors for Very Large Telescope
  SEPTEMBER 5, 2008--e2v will supply ESO, the largest astronomy institute in Europe, with a set of CCD231-84 sensors over a two-year period.
• Point Grey Research releases USB 2.0 cameras, joins Cognex's Alliance program
  SEPTEMBER 3, 2008--Starting in September, Point Grey will introduce new USB 2.0 products including the Chameleon. Point Grey Research also has joined the newly launched Acquisition Alliance program of machine-vision software supplier Cognex Corp.
• Mitsubishi Electric and Cognex pair up to develop vision products
  SEPTEMBER 2, 2008--Cognex will work with Mitsubishi to develop specially configured versions of Cognex In-Sight vision systems that will be designed to integrate with Mitsubishi's factory automation products.
• ISRA achieves 45% revenue growth into third quarter of fiscal year
  AUGUST 27, 2008--ISRA VISION AG (Darmstadt, Germany; www.isravision.com), a supplier of industrial image processing and surface inspection systems, has released its earnings statement for the third quarter of its 2007/2008 fiscal year.
• BitFlow appoints Covistech as Canadian distributor
  AUGUST 26, 2008--Imaging components distributor Cooper Vision Technologies (Ottawa, ON, Canada; www.covistech.com) has announced a distribution agreement with BitFlow Inc. (Woburn, MA, USA; www.bitflow.com), a developer of frame grabbers and software.
• Point Grey Research relocates, expands headquarters
  AUGUST 22, 2008--Point Grey Research (Richmond, BC, Canada; www.ptgrey.com), a provider of advanced digital camera systems, has announced the relocation and expansion of its corporate headquarters to a larger, more modern facility in Richmond.
