• VDC reports shift in connectivity for industrial I/O markets
  OCTOBER 8, 2008--A new market study from VDC Research Group (Natick, MA, USA; www.vdcresearch.com) finds significant shipment growth expectations for distributed/remote I/O products using Ethernet-based and safety bus/network connectivity.
• Motion control market continues upward trend
  SEPTEMBER 30, 2008--According to a new Trend Analysis prepared by the Motion Control Association (MCA; www.motioncontrolonline.org), the market is up significantly in 1Q08 compared to the same quarter one year earlier.
• IPC says PCB shipments up in August over 2007
  SEPTEMBER 29, 2008--IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries (Bannockburn, IL, USA; www.ipc.org) has announced the August findings from its monthly North American Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Statistical Program.
• Asia-Pacific PLC market continues strong growth
  SEPTEMBER 26, 2008--According to IMS Research's (Shanghai, China; www.imsresearch.com) recently published report, the Asia-Pacific market for PLCs and directly associated software and services was estimated at $US1,447.7 million in 2007, 17.5% more than in 2006.
• VISION 2008 will see product and event premieres
  SEPTEMBER 9, 2008--Approximately 300 exhibitors and 6,300 trade visitors are expected to turn out at VISION 2008, held at Messe Stuttgart (Stuttgart, Germany), from November 4-5.
• PCB shipments up but bookings down from last July
  AUGUST 28, 2008--Rigid PCB shipments are up 5.3% and bookings are down 8.0% in July 2008 from July 2007. Year-to-date, rigid PCB shipments are up 5.7% percent and bookings are up 4.4%.
• PCB industry growth still modest but steady
  JULY 1, 2008--IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries (Northbrook, IL, USA) has announced its findings from its May 2008 Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Statistical Program.
• Machine vision gets smarter
  JUNE 10, 2008--Smart cameras, smart sensors, and compact vision systems are leading the field of machine vision with above-average growth, according to a report by IMS Research (Wellingborough, UK).
• IPC says book-to-bill ratio is holding steady
  MAY 28, 2008--IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries (Northbrook, IL, USA) has announced its findings from its April 2008 PCB Statistical Program.
