Daily Product Highlights 2008 p16 of 24:

  • Compact spectroradiometers are modular, flexible
FD-1840 series of modular, high-performance NIST-traceable spectroradiometers contains two models based on different spectrometers. Both are complete plug-and-play systems and include the same versatile spotting scope and software. The FD-1840+ is an economical version for applications covering 380 to1000 nm and contains the Ocean Optics' USB2000+. The FD-1840QE incorporates the Ocean Optics' QE65000 with increased sensitivity and a wavelength range of 385 to 765 nm.
  • Digital camera records at high speed
Phantom V12 digital camera can record 1 million pictures per second with a specially designed 1280 ? 800 high definition CMOS sensor built specifically for high-speed imaging applications. The camera features an active pixel size of 20 µm coupled with improved quantum efficiency and submicrosecond shuttering down to 300 ns (optional). Eight gigabytes of high-speed dynamic RAM comes standard.
  • Mini imager is fast
Quadrus MINI Velocity autofocus imager consistently reads linear and 2-D codes moving as fast as 100 in./s. Unique autofocus technology enables continuous read performance across varying line speeds, code distances, or code types. The Velocity includes the company's Easy Setup Program software, which simplifies data collection through programmable features.
  • Sensor inspects small features over wide area
Checker 232 detects and inspects up to 1500 parts per minute. It uses patent-pending multi-image analysis to determine if a part is present without an external trigger and tracks parts in varying positions along the production line, overcoming imprecise part positioning and delivering consistent, precisely timed pass/fall results. Checker 232 joins three existing 200 series models.
  • GigE Vision-compliant model added to camera family
A GigE Vision-compliant version of the Spyder 3 camera family uses the company's patented dual-linescan sensor technology. The Spyder 3 offers 1k and 2k resolution with a 14 ? 14-µm pixel size and has a maximum line rate of 68 kHz and throughput of 80 Mpixels/s. Key features include seamless interoperation among compliant hardware and software from different vendors; 1000-Mbit/s bandwidth for image transfer in real time up to 100 m; and low cost cables and integration.
  • Thermal camera is compact
Photon 640 is a 640 ?480-format, high-resolution addition to the Photon family of compact thermal-imaging cameras. The Photon 640 provides four-times as many pixels on target as the Photon 320, both 2X and 4X electronic zoom for longer-range performance, and a 3-s turn-on time for "on demand" operations. A user-friendly GUI is available as a free download, and a SDK is available for custom integration requirements.
  • 2-CCD camera is affordable
AD-080CL is a competitively priced 2-CCD camera capable of simultaneously measuring visible and near-infrared (near-IR) light spectrums through a single lens using two channels. The two images are aligned within a quarter pixel, and the alignment remains stable throughout the camera's lifetime. The AD-080CL features a 1/3-in. prism in a small camera housing (55 ? 55 ? 80 mm). The camera features 1024 ? 768 pixels.
  • System reads text and code
VICODEbasic reads variable data with high reliability while identifying text and codes with accuracy up to 99.9%. VICODEbasic offers the possibility of upgrades to meet the increasing requirements of identification processes. OCR-A, OCR-B, and other characters are read reliably, and up to 100 alphanumeric figures can read per second.
  • High-speed analog frame grabbers are for single-tap cameras
Domino Symphony boards are high-performance frame grabbers for industrial applications. Equipped with 8- or 10-bit A/D converters clocked at up to 65 MHz and on-board 64-Mbyte memory, they offer an affordable interface to four single-tap monochrome analog cameras. In addition, they expose multiple general purpose I/O lines available in parallel on a standard HD-26 bracket connector and on an on-board header.
  • Ultrafast framing camera sets up easily
SIM-D Ultra Fast Framing camera is a compact system combining ease of use, ease of maintenance, and high performance. A novel optical periscope for focus adjustment enables rapid and simple experimental setup and optimization. Comprehensive triggering facilities, highly accurate timing control, and a wide range of output signals, coupled with a software package that includes full measurement and image-enhancement functions simplifies image capture.
