Daily Product Highlights 2008 p9 of 21:

  • Intelligent camera is versatile
The IMPACT A20 camera is industrially rugged yet compact, offering high-performance on-board image processing, a digital imaging sensor, real-time I/O, and 256 Mbytes of on-board memory. Included in the IMPACT Software Suite, the IMPACT Vision Program Manager now has more than 120 tools, including OCR, blob analysis, circle gauge, circular pattern find, line find, and subpixel gauging. In addition, The IMPACT Software Suite comes with multilanguage support.
  • IR camera is GigE Vision and GenICam compatible
ThermoVision A320G infrared camera is designed to be compatible with GigE Vision and support the GenICam protocol for easy integration with digital cameras and third-party software. Rugged, compact, and lightweight, the A320G is an affordable way to add accurate thermographic imaging and noncontact temperature measurements to machine-vision systems. Features include image flow control that allows an external signal to control the image streaming.
  • 16-Mpixel camera available with GigE interface
The progressive-scan svs16000 16-Mpixel camera with Gigabit Ethernet interface is equipped with an interline-transfer CCD sensor from Kodak with a diagonal of 43.3 mm. Using two Ethernet connections the camera achieves a maximum frame rate of 4 frames/s with full resolution of 4896 ? 3280 pixels. In the partial-scan mode or when using AOIs, images can be read out at a higher speed. Binning with 2 ? 2 pixels is also possible.
  • SoC verification system is fast
New generation of the PROC_SoC Verification System is designed to debug and verify SoC designs of diverse styles. Incorporating an Altera Stratix III EP3SL340 FPGA, the PROC_SoC has a flexible interconnect topology that allows any FPGA device to directly connect to any other programmable device in the system. It is designed to operate at clock speeds up to 300 MHz. Two scalable, multiple-board, card-cage-based configurations are available.
  • Zoom cameras have fast frame rate
Line of cost-effective FireWire VGA and XVGA zoom cameras have a 4.8?46-mm motor zoom lens, auto iris, and one-push autofocus. Zoom and focus are set by stepper motors, thus all adjustments can be reproduced. All camera functions are software controlled and can be set either manually or automatically via an easy-to-use interface. Optionally, the cameras can be equipped with a ringlight system, which can be powered by the camera.
  • Camera series can be integrated
CVA camera series are cost-effective, flexible GigE cameras for high-speed data transfer using Gigabit Ethernet and 100-Mbit LAN. CVA cameras use open source ?Clinux as the operating system with a GNU compiler. The series can be specified with several CMOS or CCD sensors in either monochrome or color. They are stand-alone units and can be integrated into existing LANs, allowing the user to view the video stream or processed data with any standard Web browser.
  • LED projectors give stable light
MSPP Series of LED spot projectors are designed to replace conventional halogen point light sources, as well as fiberoptic illumination solutions. Available in two versions, for narrow and wide lighting areas, MSPP LED spot projectors provide stable, uniform illumination, improving the performance of image-processing applications. Compact and lightweight in design, MSPP LED spot projectors offer bright illumination over a wide range of working distances and lighting areas.
  • LEDs light small areas
LED illumination spots are designed for lighting small object areas and are suitable for rugged environments. A variety of filters can be used for the spots. An adapter on a light pipe is available. They can substitute for cold light sources.
  • Lens assembly is flexible
Large-format lens assembly has optional microscanning and step-stare sensor capability for enhanced imaging requirements. The 50-mm lens offers flexibility as either a stand-alone solution for large-format detectors or in conjunction with the enhanced resolution features. The speed of the lens is based on an f/2.3 cold-shield arrangement, and the 50-mm focal length for the lens is derived from the required 1-m sampling area at an operating distance of 2.5 km.
  • Stepper motor features 1-µm resolution
Two-phase linear stepper motor with 1-µm resolution travels at 80 in./s, can operate in any axis, and features 1 G acceleration. It is capable of precise position, velocity, and acceleration control when integrated with a microstepping drive and indexer. This single-axis, 5-lb-continuous-force linear stepper has the forcer [motor], bearings, and platen [track] integrated into a compact, low-profile package.
