At VISION 2018, Zivid will show its award-winning Zivid One 3D color camera in two separate random bin picking applications that deal with complex, reflective, and light-absorbing parts. Zivid’s 3D color camera allows acquisition of full color 3D point clouds in above full HD (2.3MPixels) with 100μm depth resolution at a rate of 10Hz. It comes in a rugged, compact and lightweight industrial packaging, and it can easily be mounted either directly on a robot or in the robot's vicinity, according to the company. One demonstration that will be shown is from Robomotive, the company that designed the system behind the first fully automated e-fulfillment robot at DHL. Here, according to Zivid, a Yaskawa HC10 robot performs random bin-picking at an incredible 1,000+ picks per hour without the need for prior teaching.
