At VISION 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany, Baumerwill introduce polarization camera models to its CX series with GigE and USB 3.0 interface options. Available in color and monochrome versions, the cameras are based on the 5 MPixel IMX250MZR global shutter sensor from Sony, which has a polarization layer consisting of four polarization filters (0°, 90°, 45°, 135°) at the pixel level. Through an integrated evaluation algorithm and the Baumper GAPI SDK, only polarization information is transmitted from the camera, enabling various inspection applications, according to the company.

Additionally, Baumer will showcase new models in its LX series featuring 2, 4, and 25 MPixel image sensors that feature integrated JPEG image compression and frame rates up to 140 fps. Through the FPGA in the GigE camera models, JPEG image compression takes place directly in the camera, offering a reduced bandwidth for high-speed transmission of high-resolution images.
