Linux development system uses CompactPCI platform
As a series of rack-mounted CompactPCI development platforms, Ziatech`s LinuxPCI 1000 combines the CompactPCI architecture with Hard Hat Linux software from MontaVista Software (Sunnyvale, CA). Supplied with Hard Hat Linux, the system combines a fan-cooled, 19-in. rack-mount enclosure with a CompactPCI system based on Intel`s Pentium II processor, a floppy drive, hard drive, CD-ROM, and a 300-W ac power supply. The system`s eight-slot CompactPCI backplane supports 32- or 64-bit operation, the PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap Specification, and rear I/O. CompactNET, Ziatech`s multiprocessing environment for CompactPCI computers, is available as an option. Available this month, the LinuxPCI 1000 development System includes a Hard Hat Linux kernel configuration on CD-ROM. Single- quantity price is $5895, including a 90-day service-support contract with MontaVista Software.
