The VA series of digital cameras of 12-bit digital cameras from Vieworks incorporates the latest generation of 5.5 × 5.5-µm pixel interline transfer CCD technology from Eastman Kodak. The sensor technology is leveraged to provide automated optical inspection (AOI) companies with frame rate and sensitivity improvements that allow increases in system throughput or number of units inspected per hour. The series includes the following models: VA-8M (8 million pixel, 3296 × 2472, electronic shutter, 16 frames/s); VA-4M (4 million pixel, 2336 × 1752, electronic shutter, 32 frames/s); VA-2M HDTV (2 million pixel, 1920 × 1080, electronic shutter, 64 frames/s); VA-2M (2 million pixel, 1600 × 1200, electronic shutter, 68 frames/s); and VA-1M (1 million pixel, 1080 × 1064, electronic shutter, 120 frames/s). Vieworks Launches New VA Series 12-bit Digital Camera Line

Cameras Allow Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Equipment builders to increase the throughput of their systems

Rochester, NY – Vieworks (www.vieworks.com), a leading manufacturer of high performance 12-bit digital cameras, announces the availability of the VA series of digital cameras. This new series of 12-bit digital cameras incorporates the latest generation of 5.5 × 5.5 micron pixel interline transfer CCD technology from Eastman Kodak Company, Image Sensor Solutions, providing higher frame rates and improved image quality. Building on camera design and manufacturing experience gained by successfully supplying high performance digital cameras to medical equipment manufactures, Vieworks leverages these competencies to provide automated optical inspection companies the new VA camera series that provides, low noise, high dynamic range, faster frame rates, and superior reliability. With this new imaging performance, automated optical inspection companies now have frame rate and sensitivity improvements that allow increases in system throughput or number of units inspected per hour. The following cameras make up the VA series:

VA-8M 8 million pixel, 3,296 × 2,472, electronic shutter, 16 frame/sec
VA-4M 4 million pixel, 2,336 × 1,752, electronic shutter, 32 frame/sec
VA-2M HDTV 2 million pixel, 1,920 × 1,080, electronic shutter, 64 frame/sec
VA-2M 2 million pixel, 1,600 × 1,200, electronic shutter, 68 frame/sec
VA-1M 1 million pixel, 1,080 × 1,064, electronic shutter, 120 frame/sec

“Our customers always ask us how we can help increase the speed or throughput of their systems. With the VA camera series, we provide our customers increases in frame rate and sensitivity that allow them to do what they have been asking for,” said Mr. Bob Kim, Managing Director, Vieworks Co. Ltd. “The VA cameras will set a new performance level in the Industrial market.”

“The new VA series of cameras offers customers increases in speed and sensitivity. Two things they have been asking for,” said Terry Guy, VP Sales and Marketing, Vision Systems Technology, LLC. “The new 1 million pixel – 120 frame per second and 8 million pixel – 16 frame per second cameras set new performance standards for Industrial applications.”

In North America, Vieworks cameras are available from Vision Systems Technology, LLC (www.visionsystech.com).
