Applied Vision contracted to supply eleven new can-making plants

SEPTEMBER 1, 2009--Applied Vision (Akron, OH, USA; www.appliedvision.com), which supplies machine vision inspection systems for the container manufacturing industry, has signed contracts to provide systems for 11 new can manufacturing plants in 10 countries.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2009--Applied Vision (Akron, OH, USA; www.appliedvision.com), which supplies machine vision inspection systems for the container manufacturing industry, has signed contracts to provide systems for 11 new can manufacturing plants in 10 countries.

Each new plant will install multiple systems to inspect everything from the quality of ends to decoration accuracy. Major can manufacturers, including CanPack, Crown, Impress, and Rexam, are among the backers of the new projects located in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East.

"When building a new plant, canmakers want to integrate the latest and best technology so they can truly further their production output and quality capabilities," said Bud Patel, vice president of sales at Applied Vision.

Applied Vision designs and manufactures application-¬specific machine vision inspection systems for packaging, food, and beverage containers and color printing. The systems are sold worldwide through OEMs, value-added resellers, full¬ service distributors, and company direct.
