MVTec will showcase both HALCON and the newly-launched MERLIC machine vision software at Automat 2015 in Chicago. HALCON is comprehensive standard software for machine vision with an integrated development environment. MVTec recently introduced a version of itsHALCON 12 machine vision software that is ready to use on Android mobile devices. "HALCON Embedded for Android" runs on such Android devices as tablets and smartphones and on request, MVTec can develop a custom Android version tailored for specific applications. HALCON for Android, according to MVTec, will open up a range of new application possibilities, one of which is for optical character recognition (OCR).
In addition, MERLIC software, which will be available on June 1, will also be on display at the booth. MERLIC is all-in-onemachine vision software which enables users to build complete solutions without programming. PC-based MERLIC software offers a new user experience with novel interaction concepts and a number of tools, including calibration, alignment, measurement, counting, checking, identification, geometry, location, and defect detection.
