Bodkin Design & Engineering, LLC has announced the release of the VNIR-90 hyperspectral imager, which is designed to capture images within fixed tissue or in-vivo biological samples. The VNIR-90 uses a patented HyperPixel Array (HPA) technology to combine spectral data with spatial information to create 3D hyperspectral "data cubes" in a single video frame. The imager achieves a frame rate of up to 60 fps and can acquire up to 25 cubes/s. The USB-powered imager also features a spectral range of 500-910 nm and an average spectral resolution of 3.9 nm/bin. VNIR-90 imagers are suitable for use in medical and biomedical imaging applications, including microscopy. Bodkin Design & Engineering will showcase the new hyperspectral imager at SPIE DSS 2014 from May 5-9 in Baltimore, MD.
