DECEMBER 21--Vicon Industries Inc. (Hauppauge, NY), a designer and producer of engineered video surveillance systems, has announced the introduction of Facematch, a sophisticated and integrated facial-recognition and area-surveillance system. Facematch was developed and manufactured by MATE-CCTV, an Israel-based company that will be working with Vicon's Israeli development subsidiary, QSR, Ltd., to incorporate MATE's technology into Vicon's proprietary digital video-network platform.

Vicon Industries designs, manufactures, assembles, and markets a wide range of video systems and system components used for security, surveillance, safety, and control purposes by a broad group of end users worldwide.

MATE-CCTV Ltd. is a developer and manufacturer of a comprehensive line of real-time video image-recognition technologies and products for facial and area surveillance applications in the CCTV security market.
