The Automated Imaging Association (AIA; Ann Arbor, MI, USA) is holding a kick-off meeting for development of the USB3 Vision interface standard for machine vision using the USB3 connector. AIA has scheduled the meeting for Sept. 12-14, 2011, in Hamburg, Germany, and expects to follow up the meeting with distributed development activities, a presentation of the draft standard at VISION 2011 in Stuttgart, and publication in 2012.

The criteria for participation in this development effort are attendance at required meetings and a willingness to contribute approximately 80 man-hours of work toward the standard development outside of the meetings.

Those interested in participating can respond to Bob MCurrach ([email protected]), AIA director of standards development, by Aug. 15, 2011.
