Vision Systems Design is hosting a free hour long webcast on May 1 that will provide an in depth look at Version 2.0 of the GigE Vision standard.

In the webcast, Vincent Rowley, a system architect at Pleora Technologies, (Kanata, Ontario, Canada) will discuss the theory behind the GigE Vision standard, the standard itself and the latest enhancements that can be found in version 2.0.

Geared to meet the needs of engineers and system integrators, his presentation will also describe the importance of the GenICam software standard as well as how GigE Vision image network distribution is achieved.

Rowley will also show how engineers can determine whether GigE Vision is right for their particular vision applications.

The webcast -- which starts at 11:00am Eastern Daylight Time -- will be followed by a question and answer session.

Readers can register for the webcast here.
