For the first time ever at the VISION Show, the China Society of Image and Graphics’ Chinese Machine Vision Union (CMVU) will host the "China Pavilion," which will showcase a number of CMVU companies in an effort to branch out into the global arena.

At the AIA Business Conference in January, Keith Reuben, President of Teledyne DALSA Asia-Pacific, offered an overview of the machine vision market in Asia. For China, the largest manufacturer in the world, Reuben indicated double digit growth in the move to automation. The imaging market is supported by the Chinese government’s economic policy as local companies begin to enter the vision component market. In addition, Reuben indicated that the CMVU forecasts a 15-20% average annual growth into 2015, though the AIA itself predicted a lower rate of growth.

It should not come as a huge surprise, based off this information, that the CMVU will host the first China Pavilion at the VISION Show, which will be held November 4-6 in Stuttgart. In a member news e-mail sent out by the CMVU, it is noted that Chinese machine vision companies are starting to get noticed on a global scale and that many companies have the potential to build an international brand. As a result, CMVU has coordinated with Messe Stuttgart on placing them into their own location at the VISION Show, which the organization hopes will help more Chinese companies go abroad and demonstrate their abilities on the global stage.

CMVU member companies that are expected to participate in the pavilion include:

  • Shanghai Fairsion Photoelectric Technology Co., Ltd.
  • Beijing Luster Group
  • Beijing Microview Science and Technology Co.,Ltd
  • Shanghai V-Light Optoelectronic Co. , Ltd
  • DAHENG IMAGING
  • Shenzhen Caliboptics Inc.

This year’s VISION Show will feature a number of “firsts,” including a special showcase for industrial PCs and the first ever "Inspect Application Forum," in which potential users of machine vision technologies can link with the system and solution providers most suited to them.
