Electronically-tunable lens from Optotune suits machine vision and microscopy applications

Dec. 8, 2015
Featuring a 60% larger clear aperture than its predecessor which provides 2.5x more light throughput, the EL-16-40-TCF electronically-focus tunable lens from Optotune is suitable for use in machine vision, microscopy, 3D for augmented and virtual reality applications, and refraction correction in ophthalmic devices.

Featuring a 60% larger clear aperture than itspredecessor which provides 2.5x more light throughput, the EL-16-40-TCF electronically-focus tunable lens from Optotune is suitable for use in machine vision, microscopy, 3D for augmented and virtual reality applications, and refraction correction in ophthalmic devices. The lens is available with an industrial self-locking connector and a variety of threads, and can be controlled with Optotune’s Lens Driver 4 and 4i, whereas a firmware update is required to enable the Focal Power Mode. Additionally, lens can be shaped from a flat zero-state into a plano-concave or plano-convex lens, resulting in a focal tuning range of up to -10 to +10 diopters (at -250 to +250mA).
