LMI Technologies has announced the release of the Gocator 2430 and 2440 3D smart sensors, which are designed for scanning dark materials including tire tread, sidewalls, and rubber sheets. The laser line profilers feature 2 MPixel CMOS image sensors, red lasers, onboard processing, GigE interface, built-in 3D measurement tools, and an improved optical design over previous models. Additionally, the 3D profilers achieve scan rates up to 5 kHz, 1500 data points/profile z resolution of 6 to 14 µm (2430) and 13 to 37 µm (244), and x resolution (profile data interval) of 37 to 57 µm (2430) and 90 to 130 µm (2440). Setup and control of the sensors is done through web browser or software development kit.
