The Vision Show 2018 broke all previous records, with more than 2,500 people in attendance, representing a 12% increase over the previous record set in 2016, according to the AIA.
North America’s leading event devoted to machine vision and imaging, The Vision Show featured more than 150 exhibitors and 23,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space displaying the latest machine vision systems, imaging components, deep learning vision software, embedded vision solutions, collaborative robots and more, according to the AIA.
"As a first-time exhibitor, I was impressed with the amount of connections we made with new customers and the level of engagement through conversation," said Jamie LaCouture, Tradeshow Supervisor with Thorlabs. "We will be returning for the next show in 2020!"
Laurie Partington, Senior Marketing & Communications Representative for Matrox Imaging, a veteran of the show, also commented: "The show was busy, the visitors were well informed about Vision, and the networking among exhibitors was excellent!"
In addition to the record attendance at the show, the AIA saw a 10% increase in attendance for The Vision Conference, which runs in parallel to the exhibition. Over the course of five days, more than 275 people attended the various tracks, which explored vision integration, embedded vision, IIOT and AI, AIA’s Certified Vision Professional (CVP) Basic level training program, and CVP Advanced.
Record attendance at this year’s show reflects the overall state of the machine vision market, which last year saw record growth of 15% over 2016 to $2.6 billion.

This fall, the AIA and Robotic Industries Association (RIA) are looking ahead to the second iteration of their Collaborative Robots, Advanced Vision & AI Conference, which will take place October 24-25 at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and will feature leading edge presentations, exhibits, and networking in the areas of collaborative robotics, advanced vision, and AI. >>> View more information here.
