    In this episode of Focus on Vision, VSD covers:

    • Vision Systems Design's Innovators Awards. VSD announced the honorees of this year’s program on May 6 at Automate 2024, which was a large trade show held in Chicago.
    • An AI-enabled vision system, known as IdentiFlight, which detects, tracks and identifies flight paths of birds. The system is designed to protect birds from wind farm turbine blades by temporarily curtailing wind turbine activity, if necessary, so that birds may fly through potentially dangerous areas.
    • A recent report from VDMA, a trade group based in Frankfurt, Germany, that predicts a continued downturn this year in the machine vision industry in Europe. However, the report also predicts that Europe will begin to recover from the downturn during the 4th quarter of 2024.
