MATLAB update expands AI capabilities for deep learning

July 22, 2020
Engineers can train neural networks in the new release's Deep Network Designer app.

MATLAB Release 2020a from MathWorks provides engineers the opportunity to train neural networks in the updated Deep Network Designer app, manage multiple deep learning experiments in a new Experiment Manager app, and choose from more network options to generate deep learning code. It offers new capabilities specifically for automotive and wireless engineers, including driving scenarios using imported road data, and support for 5G and WiFi-6 technologies, respectively.

A new Deep Learning Toolbox manages multiple deep learning experiments, interactively trains a neural network for image classification, and generates MATLAB code for training. It also includes Motor Control Blockset, a library of motor control algorithms, a Simulink Compiler, and a MATLAB Wed App Server.
