Silicon imager captures x-rays For medical- and industrial-imaging applications, the RID256 detector features a 20 ¥ 20-cm active area with 256 ¥ 256 pixels. X-rays and other high-energy radiation in the 20-keV to 25-MeV range are detected using scintillators to convert the incoming radiation to visible light. The company also offers a radiation-detection system (the RIS 256) that includes a PC with digital image-acquisition and evaluation software.
