    The seven promoters of the Developer`s Interface Guide for IA-64 Servers (DIG64; dig64.org) -Compaq Corp, Dell Computer, Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp., Intel Corp., NEC, and Siemens-have published an interoperability guideline based on a standard set of system building blocks and software interfaces for servers built on Intel`s 64-bit Merced processor for the IA-64 computing platform architecture.     The seven promoters of the Developer`s Interface Guide for IA-64 Servers (DIG64; dig64.org) -Compaq Corp, Dell Computer, Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp., Intel Corp., NEC, and Siemens-have published an interoperability guideline based on a standard set of system building blocks and software interfaces for servers built on Intel`s 64-bit Merced processor for the IA-64 computing platform architecture. In addition, Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp. have verified that the 64-bit Windows operating system can boot and run on engineering prototype systems based on the Intel Merced processor.
