ISRA Vision Systems (Darmstadt, Germany), a supplier of machine-vision systems for robot vision and web inspection, and Insight Integration Inc. (Lansing, MI; www.insighti.com), an integrator of machine-vision systems for industrial automation, have agreed to form a strategic partnership to promote global growth for both companies. The agreement includes a major investment in Insight Integration by ISRA Vision Systems.

ISRA Vision Systems (Darmstadt, Germany), a supplier of machine-vision systems for robot vision and web inspection, and Insight Integration Inc. (Lansing, MI; www.insighti.com), an integrator of machine-vision systems for industrial automation, have agreed to form a strategic partnership to promote global growth for both companies. The agreement includes a major investment in Insight Integration by ISRA Vision Systems.

MIPS Technologies Inc. (MIPS; Mountain View, CA; www.mips.com), and Texas Instruments (TI; Dallas, TX; www.ti.com) have agreed to provide TI access to MIPS processor cores in support of TI`s digital-signal-processor (DSP) system-level integration solutions. As part of the relationship, TI will license MIPS 32- and 64-bit RISC cores, code-named Jade and Opal.

Intel Corp. (Santa Clara. CA; www.intel.com) and Analog Devices Inc. (Norwood, MA; www.analog.com) have signed a joint-development agreement to design a digital-signal-processing (DSP) architecture that will result in a fixed-point, low-power DSP core for processing video, image, voice, and data information.

Optikos Corp. (Cambridge, MA) and Coherent Ealing Ltd. (Watford, Herts, England) have agreed on the transfer of Coherent-Ealing MTF and Thermal Imager optical and electro-optical measurement-system hardware and software testing product lines to Optikos.

Hewlett-Packard Co. (Palo Alto, CA; www.hp.com) has strategically realigned itself into two independent companies. The computing and imaging company will continue to operate under the Hewlett-Packard name and continue develop products and services for the laser-jet solutions group, the ink-jet products group, the enterprise computing solutions organization, and the personal systems group. The as yet unnamed measurement company will develop products and services for advanced communications networks, the Internet, life sciences, and fiberoptic, wireless, and optoelectronics components.
