• I/O subsystem targets signal processing

Designed for I/O-intensive applications in signal and image processing, the Midas-200 series is a twin Intel i960-based memory I/O subsystem for the VME or RACEway bus. The board is designed to carry between two and five PMC-PCI mezzanine cards such as VMETRO`s digital parallel port, FibreChannel cards from Systran (Dayton, OH), and the C44 DSP board from Pentek (Upper Saddle River, NJ). A key element of the Midas-200 design is the use of dual Intel i960RP processors, each of which contains a RISC processor, PCI-PCI bridge, memory, and DMA controller. In operation, each of the processors can access DRAM at 120 Mbyte/s providing a fast double-memory scheme that is optimized for data-flow applications.
