Colorado MicroDisplay Inc. (Boulder, CO) and Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR) have formed a distribution partnership to provide proprietary dynamic nematic liquid-crystal-on-silicon, high-resolution color, full-motion-video microdisplays to industrial, commercial, and military markets.

In a technology collaboration, The MathWorks Inc. (Natick, MA) and Mercury Computer Systems Inc. (Chelmsford, MA) have integrated the RACE MATLAB Math Library from Mercury with M-file programs developed in the MathWorks MATLAB language for RACE PowerPC and i860 embedded computer systems, as well as Sun Solaris workstations.

The Electronic Device Group of Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) and Silicon Graphics Inc. (Mountain View, CA) have jointly developed the 1600 SuperWide, 17.3-in., digital flat-panel monitor. This monitor combines Mitsubishi`s AngleView TFT LCD technology and Silicon Graphics` proprietary color-matching technology to provide an SXGA, 1600 ¥ 1024 ¥ 24-bit, 110-dpi display.

Three-Five Systems Inc. (Tempe, AZ) and Varian Associates Inc. (Palo Alto, CA) have formed a development partnership to create advanced miniature displays using Three-Five`s proprietary liquid-crystal-on-silicon technology.

Leutron Vision (Glattbrugg, Switzerland) and Dipix Technologies Inc. (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) have formed an alliance to research and develop special digital image-processing products.
