PCI frame grabber accelerates images The $650 PC-COMP combines a frame grabber and digital I/O on a half-slot PCI bus card and can operate either as a DMA bus master or slave. It provides 1 Mbyte of dual-ported on-board memory that handles a camera-to-frame grabber throughput of 60 Mbytes/s. It provides 1 Mbyte of dual-ported on-board memory that handles a camera-to-frame grabber throughput of 60 Mbytes/s. Images transfer from the card to the host PC in less than 8 ms, offering 25 ms of extra processing time for other image processing operations. The card accommodates color or monochrome video formats, including RS-170, CCIR, NTSC, PAL, S-VHS, and VCR. Camera interfacing is accomplished by programmable timing, cabling, and trigger and strobe options.
