    Targeted at high-end image-processing applications, both the Dakar TMS320C44-based PCI-bus processor board and the Maranello TMS320C4x-based VME64-bus master board come with three and four TIM-40 expansion sites, respectively, and a DSP-Link3 input/output expansion interface that supports a range of processor, I/O, memory, and software configurations. The Dakar board houses one `C4x 60-MHz embedded processor and accommodates one to seven `C4x DSPs for delivering 420 MFLOPS. The Maranello board includes 10 external I/O communications ports, a JTAG emulation port, application-specific ports, and a VME64 master/slave interface.
