PixeLINK signs SISC as master distributor in China

JANUARY 10--PixeLINK (Ottawa, Canada; www.pixelink.com) has announced a distribution agreement with Scientific Instrument Software Company (SISC) of Beijing, China.

JANUARY 10--PixeLINK (Ottawa, Canada; www.pixelink.com) has announced a distribution agreement with Scientific Instrument Software Company (SISC) of Beijing, China. Under the agreement, SISC will act as PixeLINK's master distributor for microscopy and machine-vision camera products in the People's Republic of China and will develop a network of subdealers and resellers throughout that country.

"Our association with SISC will provide us with access to the growing Chinese market. Their expertise in scientific imaging software and our image-capture technology combined with our brand recognition are an excellent fit," says Kevin Cooper, vice president at PixeLINK. "Together, we will provide professional software and imaging solutions to the Asian market."

Under the distribution agreement, PixeLINK's management expects to develop a network of 20-25 subdealers in 2005 and to increase the number of subdealers to more than 40 in the next year. SISC will also promote the PixeLINK brand across China, building nationwide awareness for the brand name.

Founded in 1992, the PixeLINK product line includes a family of digital cameras that allow end users and OEMs to exploit the simplicity and usefulness of digital imaging technology. Targeted at the life-science and industrial markets, PixeLINK products are designed with a specific focus on microscopy and machine vision.

SISC provides laboratory and field image-processing solutions. Its products include basic image acquisition and display software to advanced image analysis, management, and photodocumentation tools. SISC is a member of the China Scientific Group, China's largest technology resource owner.
