    NOVEMBER 25--VMD is a popular molecular visualization software packages. VMD 1.8 alpha 29, now in test, provides users with a menu selection for "DTI side by side" stereo, allowing instant formatting of stereoscopic images for the DTI display with a single mouse click.

    VMD (www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd), developed by the University of Illinois through NIH funding, is a molecular visualization program for displaying, animating, and analyzing large biomolecular systems using 3-D graphics and built-in scripting. VMD supports computers running Windows, MacOS-X or Unix, is distributed free of charge, and includes source code. This very powerful, versatile program is in use by thousands of biomedical and structural biology researchers.
