Inc. (Austin, TX; www.viewsystems.com), has incorporated National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW software and data- and image-acquisition hardware for automation, analysis, and presentation in its state-of-the-art SecureScan concealed-weapons-detection system. SecureScan is a walk-through archway that uses advanced noncontact imaging and sensor technology to reduce long waits at security checkpoints. It virtually eliminates time-consuming false alarms by recognizing and purposefully ignoring nonthreatening artifacts, including coins, keys, and laptop computers. Secure-Scan avoids these false readings by using the advanced analysis capabilities of NI LabVIEW in conjunction with specialized sensors that recognize how metal in common objects differs from that used in guns, knives, and other weapons.

View Systems designs and produces computer hardware and software systems for remote accessing and storing of digital video. View Systems integrates Milestone Technologies to enhance SecureScan and other products produced by View Systems. The products are modular in nature and can be adapted easily to the particular needs of customers. The company distributes and supports its products through a network of value-added resellers, OEMs, sales representatives, and strategic partners.
